How to Setup http://mwlogin.net Mercusys Router?

So, I unboxed the router first to set it up. I was pretty impressed by its hardware. Even though it comes at a cheap price, the hardware has a decent built quality. Now, let’s move on to the setup. You can use your desktop or your phone to set up the router.

There are two working modes in the router, the Access Point and the Wireless Router. Choose the model you prefer and follow the corresponding set up steps.

1. Setting Up the Router in the Wireless Mode

In this mode, you can get internet access for different wireless and wired devices. For me, this is more important than the access point.

• For accessing the web management page, just open the web browser and insert the default domain name mwlogin.net in the address bar.

To connect the extender to the router’s internet connection, you have to follow the steps given below. Plug the Mercusys extender into the power outlet close to the router and wait for the Signal LED to turn solid red in color. To ensure optimum performance, I would suggest you to position the router vertically.

Connect Through the Web Browser

a. Connect the wireless device to the network MERCUSYS_RE_XXXX of the extender.

• The default SSID is printed on the product label that is present at the back of your extender.
• In case you are using a computer, just unplug the Ethernet cable from the computer.

b. Now, you have to follow the instructions given on the Quick Setup Wizard for connecting the extender to the router.

• So, launch the web browser and in the address field, enter http://mwlogin.net.
• You will see a login window. Create the login password when you asked for and then click on ‘Start’. For consecutive logins, just use the password that you have set.
• The extender is going to scan and then show the networks available. Choose the host network of the router from the list.

Note: In case the network you require to extend is on but it isn’t listed, you can try out the steps given below.

Just move the extender close to the router and click on ‘Resca’ present the list’s top-right corner.

Click on ‘Other’ for manually entering the SSID and password of the network that you would like to extend and then click on ‘Connect’.

• Enter the password of the network when you asked and then click on ‘Connect’. If you want, you can also customize the extended network name.
• Check the extender’s Signal LED on the extender. Orange and Green LED indicated a successful connection.

c. Now, it is time to relocate the extender.

• Plug the extender into a power outlet between the Wi-Fi dead zone and the host router. The location that you are selecting has to be within the existing network.
• Wait for the Signal LED to light up and turn solid green. In case it is not, make sure you relocate it closer to the host router for achieving better signal quality.

d. So, you are connected and you can enjoy the extended network. The extended network uses the password that the host network uses. However, it can have a different network name if you customize the SSID during the process of configuration.

3. Connect Through the WPS

• For this, you have to press the router’s WPS button.
• In just 2 minutes, press on WPS/RESET button on the extender for about a second. The Signal LED needs to change from flashing to a solid light. This is indicative of a successful WPS connection.
• Relocate the Mercusys extender.
• Plug the extender into a power outlet between the Wi-Fi dead zone and the host router. The location that you choose has to be within the range of the existing network.
• Now, wait for the Signal LED to light up and turn solid green. In case it doesn’t, relocate it close to the Mercusys router to get a better signal.
• As soon as you are connected, you can enjoy the internet connection. The extended internet network uses the same wireless password as the host network. However, it might have a different network name in case you have customized the SSID during the configuration process.

After connecting a wireless device to the internet, I tested the Wi-Fi performance of the Mercusys router and extender. The Wi-Fi speed was more than satisfactory. I am surprised by the results and it is better than what I thought. The long-distance performance is quite respectable.

Why am I Unable to Log Into the Web Management Utility of the Mercusys Device?

A majority of Mercusys offers a local web management server for viewing or changing the device settings. The web-based utility can be used on UNIX OS, Machintosh, or Windows with a web browser like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox. For accessing a web management page, have to find the default access of the Mercusys product.
